Power Kiting in Lincoln City, Oregon
Lincoln City seemed the perfect place to relax for a couple days. I dug out my dusty Thunderfoil. I thought, “Maybe this time it’ll be windy.” Every time I’ve tried to fly the kite, I’ve experienced intermittent gusts or low wind speeds.
Well, the wind blew this time. Around 20 miles per hour, consistently. Hopefully next time we’ll get 30 mile per hour winds.
Enjoy the following youtube video of me attempting to fly my Thunderfoil 2.4 (2.4 meters, that is) power kite and look like I know what I’m doing.

Very cool. I’d like to try that sometime (if it’s possible without getting blown away).

That does look like fun. I’d like to try it too (as long as I don’t end up in the water or on my face).

It was pretty fun to watch Eric getting pulled around by this kite on such a windy day. Unlike Becky, I would NOT like to try it. I’ll just let Eric have all the fun.

It’s possible. Just fly the kite up higher above your head and not downwind as much. You really can control how much it pulls you.
